Summary:
This comprehensive program is designed to empower healthcare professionals with advanced skills for managing patients with cognitive dysfunctions and mental illnesses with the overarching goal of enhancing patient centered care. This program provides an in-depth exploration of the roles of advance directives and legal proxies, strategies for treatment planning, interventions for agitation and emotional dysregulation, trauma-informed care approaches, and Employees Assistance Program (EAP) will provide support strategies for caregivers. A pivotal and inclusive fireside chat serves as an integral segment. Panelists will showcase invaluable insights, compelling narratives, and introspective reflections.
Outcome:
By the end of the session, the team will be equipped to:
Identify two strategies for managing agitation and emotional dysregulation and caring for the trauma patient.
Develop a patient-centered care plan, ensuring care practices are compassionate and effective.
Define the roles of a health care proxy, guardian, and the meaning of a Roger’s Treatment Plan.
Discuss two strategies EAP offers to effectively support caregivers.
